Monkey Island
Monkey Island Panama Tour
Monkey Island in Panama is a group of islands and coves in Gatun Lake,
near Panama City, which serves as habitat for several species of monkeys,
including the marmoset, capuchin, and howler monkeys, as well as birds and other animals. The island was created artificially when the lake was built for the Panama Canal.
It can be visited on boat tours from the port of Gamboa, which offer the opportunity to see the local wildlife and, in some cases, feed the capuchin and marmoset monkeys.
